Back and Better Than Ever!

In 1990, the original NSX was born. It revolutionized the industry with lightweight aluminum construction, speed, superb handling and forward thinking design. And while the Gen 1 NSX might have lacked some of the soul of Italian supercars, it certainly taught them a few lessons! In the years that have passed since production stopped in 2005, everyone has been left wondering if the NSX would ever be resurrected and could it match the accolades of the original. No need to wonder any longer, as the NSX is simply brilliant!

For 2017, an all new Acura NSX is back, and we’ve just added one to the Houston collection! Constructed with an aluminum space-frame, carbon-fiber floor and both aluminum and carbon fiber body panels this supercar is light and nimble. The mid-engine V-6 produces 573 hp and uses two big turbos to provide a huge boost that rockets you from 0-60 in just 3.1 seconds!

That was a quarter of a century ago, and now they have made something simply brilliant…

And the technology is amazing, as the NSX’s three electric motors assist as the turbos are spooling to provide an extra kick with almost zero turbo-lag. So rest assured, between the V6 engine, turbos, and three electric motors you'll have more than enough “umph” when you drop your foot to the floor!

Moving into the cabin, the seats are form-fitting and oh-so comfortable. The digital heads-up display glows blue and red, providing aggressive looking vital stats as you throw the RPM’s up through the gears. The steering wheel is perfectly sized, and is sexy as all get-out covered in matte carbon fiber. The center console looks like something out of a Star Trek movie… warp speed ahead!

When you are ready to take it for a spin, a center dial controls the NSX’s drive modes. It starts out in Sport, which is great for everyday driving, or you can select Quiet should you choose to be acoustically conservative and sneak around in stealth-mode. Sport+, on the other hand, opens the exhaust and dons more aggressive throttle and shift maps, which we greatly encourage you to put to the test. Imagine being able to be a shifty ninja in the dark, or a loud bull running through a china shop - all with just the turning of a dial.

In conclusion, the NSX does just about everything perfectly right. Some may even say too perfectly, as it almost seems to predict what you are going to do next and execute without breaking a sweat. Acura hit the nail on the head with this one, even if it made fan-boys wait 12-years since the last Gen 1 to get the new version. This is truly a vehicle you have to drive - if not, you’re missing out on the future of what a supercar should be!
